Was told over decarbed THCa turns into new molecule!? (Not THC)

I've made plenty of edibles in my life but this was the first time I've heard this. As we where decarbing out product. he was telling me about how if you over decarb THC/THCa it turns into a new molecule that has "knocking out effect". Has anyone heard of this!? I cant find anything on google about it.

OK, granted, this post is on reddit, so this person will likely never see this, but @5150sick was talking about CBN from spent flower. So I wonder if THC converts to that same one. He might know. He said that CBN does assist in the sleepies, which I'm sure many of us could use more of.
