Positive Test

One of the reasons I wanted to try out CBD was for neuro pain, which it does help, but I still need to take the prescriptions that I was on before CBD, at least for now, being fairly new to CBD. One drug that I take for breakthrough pain, Gabapentin (Neurontin) is considered a narcotic in the state of KY. I have to sign a contract every 6 months, or so, basically saying I'm not Dr. shopping and such, which gets turned over to Kasper. Last week, I had to renew that contract for the first time, which also requires a urinalyis. I was curious to find out those results. Today I got a call saying that I tested positive for THC.

When the nurse gave me this information, the next thing out of her mouth was, "Are you using CBD or marijuana?", which somewhat relieved me, but still scared me, I don't know why, really. I told her I've been using CBD, asked her if it was going to be a problem, so I'm still waiting for a call back, since she has to talk to my Doc.`

Maybe a year ago, I asked my doc if she knew much about CBD, since I had been reading positive things about it and was interested in trying it, but at that time, she didn't, so I kind of let it go. Let's hope she knows more about it now and is cool with it.

I still hope to one day be free of the meds that I currently take for neuropathy, but at this time, I do still require them.

Kinda venting, but also wanted to inform.

That sucks.
I hope they have the sense to realize that since they cut off everyone from their pain meds now they have people actually overdosing and dying from gabapentin and CBD flower should be the least of their worries.

But, If they had sense they wouldn't have cut everyone off of their pain meds to begin with.

The fact that they asked if it was Weed or CBD means that they are well aware that they are getting false positives for marijuana from CBD users.

I often wondered about this and what about people taking DT for their place of employment? Some places might not be as trusting and believe it is from CBD. The whole DT thing has been carried to far, I can remember when it was first propossed and they said it would be used for truck drivers and federal workers, my how fast that changed.

That's how I felt about it, too, but I do want to find out what Doc thinks. If she takes me off Gabapentin, it won't kill me, but it does still help. I sincerely hope that the day will come that I don't HAVE to have these meds, like Joe experienced.

It's pretty unfortunate, really. Unless these places go to greater lengths with testing, a lot of great people might have difficulty finding, or even keeping, jobs. A shame, it is. Boyfriend has had good experiences with trying out CBD. He only uses it occasionally, but he's job hunting now, and already said he'll have to stop using it. Natural relief, and he has to stop using it. SMH.

A funny thing... I texted him from work earlier, and he responded with, "What's up Cheech?" :ROFLMAO:

I hope they will be okay with it for you Huck I have gabapentin here myself. I rarely take it as they have me on a different one now. Can I ask when was the last time you used the cbd before the ua? I have to do one tomorrow and even though he kept saying cbd was fine, he sort of cut me off when I was trying to show him the pj packaging and make sure he knew it had a small amount of Thc. This pa has a bad habit of cutting you off when you are talking. Anyway I am keeping my fingers crossed for you

I had actually used it that morning, not knowing about the ua, this was the first time I'd been called in to sign one. The last one I signed, I was there for a regular appointment. I had a lot of anxiety, work has had me in knots lately. Boyfriend told me, "go have a vape, you need to calm down". Regardless, I had also had it the night before. Could have simply been that, but since I've been using it daily, I'm not sure the result would've been any different, otherwise.

Well, let us know what they end up doing and I will keep good thoughts going for you. I will be going tomorrow at 10:30 so I should know myself a few hours later if it's going to be an issue for me also.
So far, no call back, so I have no idea still. For all I know, nothing will change. Keep us posted on how yours goes, as well. ❤

Well, I lucked out. The gal at the front desk was so busy with an angry client that she forgot to give me the cup for the UA test so they let it go for this month. But this also gave me more of an opportunity to nail down the PA and talk to him more. I basically called him out on not taking the time to listen to me last month. ( I did it in a nice way though ) So, here is what he told me. If I pop positive for THC and he said that most likely I will as they have had other patients using the same cbd with the .03 THC, they reduce your pain meds by half. They won't leave you in the dark without anything. So, okay, I can live with that and it's quite possible I will be fine with half. I mean that is what I am more or less doing now.

Good for you for giving him a piece of your mind!
Well, I did say I was "nice" But I had to giggle a little at the end of our "session" He asked me, okay did I cover everything for you today? Any questions for me?. He was being genuine when he said it and not a sarcastic ass. So hopefully he got a gentle reminder to take a few extra minutes and listen to his patients.

So, I sorta have an update. Their office never did call back, so I kind of let it go, they have much bigger fish to fry right now. I figured I'd call for a refill, she'd say yes or no, it would be whatever. They gave me 5 refills, LOL. I guess she's ok with it.

You barely bumped positive. So it is believable that you use legal cbd.

Looks like you have nothing to worry about for at least 5 1/2 months 😁
What MG do you take and how many per day?
Gabapentin right?

So, In other words you could just use straight up marijuana and they'd cut your dose in half?

If someone is telling you guys they can tell the difference in these urine tests they are 100% BSing you.

it just doesn't work like that.
People metabolize THC differently.

There is always that guy who can use all the way up until a few days before a test and pass.
Just like there is always that guy who takes two hits and then a month later comes up positive.

it would be different if they were doing testing through bloodwork or something.

If they are just sticking dip sticks in cups of piss all they know is "Yes THC" or "No THC" not how much THC

Ya, I guess they are saying that. :) Of course he SAYS that to me, but when/if it happens, it could be a whole different story.
