So I live in NJ. And a couple weeks ago I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. It’s a form of Irritable Bowel Disease. Basically I have an inflamed colon which causes me considerable discomfort, pain and, I don’t know if this is related, but a complete lack of appetite. I also bleed a good amount when I use the bathroom, (which is terribly embarrassing but I thought I’d share so you understand the gravity of my concerns).
Anyway I asked my doctor if there was anything I can do to relieve my issues, especially during flair ups, and the medication he prescribed is supposed to be it. He suggested that a stronger medication might be the solution if my condition does not improve in a few weeks. But the issue is that a stronger medication means side effects. He also prescribed enemas in order to “help the healing process along”. Honestly, whatever, I’ll do all that to improve my condition. Not thrilled about the idea of stronger medication though, since the side effects could potentially disturb my other organs.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me their experience obtaining medical marijuana. Especially in my state. I heard it’s a process, but from what I’m reading, marijuana can relieve my pain, and maybe help me eat and sleep. Is there anything I can do to help the process along? Maybe make the process move quicker? I’m looking for any advice.
