Hi friends! I’m new to this and I have a question about my bowl

I packed my bowl tonight with help of a YouTube tutorial and I took two hits out of it. 1- how do you get the bowl to stop smoking? I just put my finger in the bowl but it kind of burned me a little bit 2- how often should I clean it out? When do you know?
