Dollar store drug test vs. lab???

I know corny question, but how much difference is there between a home test and a lab test? Asking because I have to take one and trying to decide whether or not to go the synthetic route. Coming up clean on every home test after 5 days not smoking. (Very occasional user, once a month if that)
