Think of THC as a sports car and CBD as the responsible driver.

THC is the gas (no pun intended) that drives the all those cannabinoids to the body. While doing this - it likes to make a pit stop in the brain and START THE PARTY.

Studies show CBD can weaken the effects of THC. However, CBD is less effective without THC. It's a strange relationship to say the least. While HEMP / CBD only users just need to make sure their products have a trace .3% THC, people on the MMJ program have more options to think about. CBD alone does not work for everyone especially if you have ACUTE pain. CBD is more about managing chronic symptoms on a daily basis.

THC has the psychoactive effects which don't treat pain as much as make you forget you have pain? At least that's all i can remember? lol

However you can control the amount of the psychoactive effects by introducing more cbd or buying cannabis with high CBD levels. You might even see your dispensary offering items that are 5:1 or 10:1. That is the CBD/THC ratio. Usually this is something that is made. A concentrate, an edible, or a spa product. Just know the higher the CBD ratio the more chronic pain relief you will get and less psychoactive. If you want to add extra CBD to your MMJ you can just buy legal CBD flower anywhere online and just mix it in. You wont notice the difference in terms of taste or flavor but your elevation will change.

When you mix HEMP CBD rich flower with Cannabis THC rich flower you get a very unique effect. If you legally have access to both - i suggest you try it.

If you scroll down to the second video, Hemp vs Cannabis, (both are short) it might have a little more info on treating pain

I myself don't smoke or vape CBD/cannabis. My wife had her medical card and I was her caregiver on her medical card so I know alot about it. Since it became legal in Canada to grow/smoke/vape I am growing my own plants indoors in a grow tent. It has turned into a real hobby that I enjoy. I do grow some strait CBD plants for my wife. We no longer have to buy any from the suppliers/growers so we quit her medical licence at $325 per year. We had to pay an outside doctor because wife's doctor was unsure if she wanted her career to go there at the time. Wife ended up with a bowel blockage because of pills. They reverse the colostomy bag after nine months. CBD is a good thing to avoid some pills. CHEERS!

I agree with you 100% natural substance substance or some Big Pharma chemical, Hmmmm, I think I'll take the natural medicine, no, I know it. I have been treating cancer with naturals for several years now, don't think I'd of gotten this far on their chemicals

I mix my CBD flower with my MMJ for during the day.
At bedtime it's MMJ only.

I use a couple different routes of administration (ROA's)

Inhalation, Edible (I like coconut oil but can make CBD/THC olive oil too) and I tried topical.

The topical was very interesting.
I got it from a friend who knows the person who made it.
It was made from waste (stems, shake, trim, etc...) in coconut but it was darker than coconut oil so it must have had other things in it.
it had a warm numbing sensation.
it worked better for me than 5% lidocaine patches that I have.
I'll try and get the recipe for it. :)

I eat a small weighed dose of infused coconut oil an hour before bed.
Every few nights I skip a night or two in order to not build up a tolerance.

I have a device for making oils/butter/tinctures and have gotten better at it.
Also, I have a vaporizer for the flower.

I was mmj for many years. 4 personal reasons i unfortunately had to put it down. Been using cbd since. I will prob go back to mmj as i live in Illinois and we went legal. Unfortunately my employer hasn't laid out their guidelines on testing as of yet. And i cant have my $job in jeopardy as all it takes is an injury and id b fukd.

I really don't like smoking either. I much prefer edibles. I have not tried topical. I do have some cbd tincture. I'm still researching what's best for me. I recently had my right knee replaced. A few weeks later I fell and injured the tendon above the same knee, resulting in a month in a knee immobilizer. I have more pain now than after the surgery. The doctors happily prescribe opioids. They agree that MMJ is safer but can't prescribe it. It's a real struggle getting signed up. I'm in a legal limbo because I prefer natural health over allopathic. I'll get there, somehow. I just think at 63 it should not be so difficult.

I make my own canna oil infusions, RSO, topicals (I use defractionated coconut oil for topicals because it's absorbed much faster and more complete), edibles. It has truly made a difference in my cancer treatment.

That's the sad facts that most face with MMJ, (I have more pain now than after the surgery. The doctors happily prescribe opioids. They agree that MMJ is safer but can't prescribe it.) Many face this delamia, I have thoughts as to why but we wont get into that. But the fact is it's a crisis.
