After tons of research I made some CBD oil with olive oil for the two cats at my girlfriends house.

One is a kitten that is all over the place and crazy.
The other is older and likes to lay around and relax.

The kitten was attacking (trying to play with) the older cat constantly so the older cat started not using the litter box.
Every time she came out or went in she got pounced on so she started going in a hiding spot instead. (that's bad news :( )

So We started giving them nightly doses of CBD.

After doing a bunch of research on the topic we settled at 5mg for the kitten and 7mg for the older cat in the evening.

The older cat now uses the litter box and the kitten is a lot less pouncy.:)

The vet would have had them both on prozac or something, (they tried doing that to the older cat once before)

Yea, They wanted her to buy this expensive prescription liquid and use a blunt tip syringe to shoot liquid prozac into the cats mouth.
That's how we do the CBD but it has to be better than drugging a cat with prozac.

Here
After hearing you talk about this, we've considered doing the same. I also have a younger HUGE kitty that won't leave my older kitty alone, and she's tiny. Then there's the 98 pound furball that is hyper AF. Play outside with her, thinking you've worn her down, talking her on walks, and she's calm for about 20 minutes, lol. She is sometimes given melatonin and it helps some. She's just wired.

Oh this is something that will be so useful to have. My new boy is hyper to the extreme and my poor older girl (almost 9 ) is just plain worn out form him, as are we LOL Lilah, my older girl has pain issues as she will limp quite often. Kinda breaks my heart as she loves it when I throw the ball for her. But I don't dare do it more than maybe 2 times. I will need to see what I can possibly make for her. I know the coconut oil is good for her so I am going to learn how to make something appropriate for her and maybe him too! :)

I’ve been giving it to my elderly lab for a couple of years. Originally for pain and inflammation, but upped the dose recently to also help settle his anxiety. (Our vet calls it doggy dementia.) She was actually the one who suggested using it.

Oh that's great it's helping! Are they chews? Or something you make? Ohhh and that's awesome your vet said to do that. Ours said we could gives our hyper boy Xanax .............like hell if I am doing that! lol he said it was not his preferred solution though but if we HAD to we could as a once in a blue moon thing. Ya, still not doing that. We bought some hemp oil chews. I don't think they have CDB in them though? maybe they do. I know they have Melatonin

I use a full spectrum cbd pet tincture I order online. Either drops on his dinner, or I let it soak into a “cookie“. Chews would work for smaller dogs. At 115 pounds, they’d be cost prohibitive for me to be able to reach his optimal dose.

lol ya our guy is 85lbs now and still has some growing to do. Probably not too much more he's about 18 months now. He will still fill out a little I think. Poor thing, spent his first 15 months in a cage. Then we rescued him. Oh! You probably saw that on VU. He's still way hyper, but has calmed down quite a bit. Just needed some training and a LOT of love and patience :)

This is what we have. Hmmm looks like something I could eat!!! :p

That’s got really good relaxing herbs in it! I think plain ole hemp oil has some CBD in it.
I tried some the oil last week that I’d bought a while back (before trying the CBD flower,) and it relaxed me a lot. I slept for about 10 hours that night. Took hours to hit, but it worked well.

Xanax for pets!! That’s creepy. I’m so glad you gave them something natural.

Well, I do like our vet very much and he did say it would not be his choice but if we HAD to keep him calm, we could use it. He was worried that when we got him neutered, with as hyper as he is, he might really tear something. So for the first 5 days we had to keep him as calm as possible. He gave us Trazadone but the chews actually did a good enough job and of course that silly cone of shame he had to wear. I think that kept him slowed down too. There are times he still makes me want to pull my hair out but he's still just a pup so it's to be expected. He's doing fine and we will get through "puppyhood" lol

Would it be possible to get your recipe? I would love to make some for my Lilah :)

So, I don't want to get too excited yet but I started giving Lilah 1/2 dropper of the cbd tincture in the mornings a few days ago. Guys, she's NOT limping! She always limps. She was running around today with Major and I thought for sure she'd be limping as that really aggravates it when she does. Nope, walking great and seems a little more peppy. Oh this would be wonderful if it continues.

Did you make the tincture or did you buy it? It’s such good news! It amazes me when animals have good results because you know it can’t be psychological at all.
