CBD is good for both humans and animals. However, there are some differences you should be aware of.
Never give your animals CBD edibles made for humans. We will always use higher doses than our animals (unless you have a Great Dane like me). They are not formulated for animals, and some of the ingredients are toxic to some animals. The average measurement is 1-5mg per 10lbs (according to my vet and a few trusted online sources I use).
1mg being lite to 5mg being a big dose per 10lbs.
With that being said a crazy Shitzu should only be getting roughly 5-8mg per dose while a Great Dane could get as much as 1200mg dose (my dane was 240lbs with zero fat). Giving animals a bigger than normal dose (especially using cd oil) can give them bowl issues.
The pet CBD market is currently a one size fits all model. There are a lot of people looking to cash out with fancy packaging and claims. Be very mindful of what's in the edible, how much cbd is in the edible, and make sure its formulated for animals.
There are plenty of sites that show you have to make them yourself and we welcome any recipes anyone would like to share.
