Can Covid 19 live on marijuana buds?

This might be a dumb question but I love in a state where marijuana is not legal so I have buy from a friend who has been working in an 'essential' business which recently had to shut down due to customers testing postive. I'm nervous bc I'm sure he'll be touching it with his bare hands and I have no way of knowing if he's practicing good hygiene.
